Anybody heard of Pinterest? I try not to spend my whole life on the site. It’s seriously addictive. I primarily began using it for writing. Why Pinterest, you ask. Isn’t that only for clothing and food? I’m here to tell you that Pinterest is amaze for writing. No this isn’t an advertisement for my Pinterest account, even though I might use some examples and I wouldn’t mind the followers. 😛

*claps hands gleefully* This is one of my favorite topics. Yeesh, even if you’re not a writer, keep reading. My joy and excitement alone are amazing.
Let’s talk worldbuilding. My computer still underlines it with red squiggles, but worldbuilding is a word in my book. What’s worldbuilding? Basically, building a world. Rocket science, I know. Oh, but it’s so much fun. You take a flat piece of earth, and make it into an amazing world. That’s how I started writing, actually. I made up an entire imaginary world in my head while doing the dishes, and it grew, and grew, and grew some Continue reading
“Where did you learn to break into a lock? You’re eight years old!”
That, my friends, is a start of an epic story. We have all these crime-fighting kids in books and movies, but really, how many eight year olds are going to be on the streets by themselves while working? It’s crazy. Someone has to babysit.
So of course you’ll click the button, right? —->>> Continue reading
Ah, back again with the writing prompts. Happy day! Continue reading
Shout out to all who have already broken their writing New Year’s Resolutions… Yeah, that would be me.
I took this (short) interesting quiz of sorts. I’m a pretty big fan of The Rebelution, and they have some good articles, so you should check them out. Back to the topic, I took this quiz they offered called the WriterScore (free). It was helpful for me to figure out where I was lacking. The result categories are: Continue reading
Superpowers are cool. And overused. I scoured the inter web for this list of little-known superpowers that will always be cool. (You’re welcome.)
So, you all probably know that a post of a similar name was already written: A List of the Lesser Known Superpowers. However, that post has since become the most popular Continue reading
It’s a tough question. Christians (writers especially) are supposed to be a light to the world. However, this gets hard when writing. Of course the character is going to go through some difficult things (if not you should probably reevaluate your story.) But the question is, how dark is to dark? And what exactly consists of dark fiction? Continue reading
Well, well, well. Another short story. Actually, it’s more of a flash-fiction piece, but the shortness worked well for this story. So, enjoy, and tell me what you thought in the comments below! 😀 (Edit: So I didn’t realize how similar this was to the video short, also titled Off Track (whoops.) Go watch the cool movie, then read. 🙂 I definitely don’t mean to plagiarize!!!!) Continue reading
Hello and welcome back! you might have noticed that writing prompts have been in short supply. I’m now going to do series of prompts (with share-able images) based on genre. First up: Fantasy. I mean, who doesn’t like some good fantasy? Continue reading
Sometimes, deciding what weapons your character is going to use can be hard work. And, as if deciding wasn’t bad enough, you then have to think about how it will correlate in later fight scenes!
I live with brothers, and an archer dad. (Post about writing archery coming later!) We have quite a collection of “boy toys”and while I don’t traipse around in the woods shooting arrows much, I do know a thing or two about weapons. Continue reading
